Take two pounds lean beef from round, a cracked knuckle of veal, on bunch soup vegetables, and a tablespoon vinegar. Bring slowly to a boil, simmer until tender with kettle closely covered. Cool meat in water, remove and shred with fork. Strain liquor, add one-half teaspoonful each ground allspice, cloves and mace, one salt spoon each of mustard, paprika and celery salt, and one-half teaspoonful salt. Bring to a boil, add meat and heat well. Wet a mild with cold water, pour in the mixture and set it on ice. ; To obtain best results with these Recipes the materials should be of the best quality.
