Mrs. Cliffe's Funeral
The funeral of Mrs. Elise Cliffe, the wife of Mr. Walter Cliffe, proprietor of the City laundry, took place from her late residence, No. 128 West Seventh street, at 2:30 o'clock Thursday afternoon.; The Ladies' Auxiliary society, of which Mrs. Cliffe was an honored and useful member, turned out in full force to pay the last sad tribute of respect and esteem to her remains. Besides these a large number of other friends also attended the funeral. The Rev. Mr. Caton, pastor of the congregational church, conducted the services and delivered an appropriate funeral oration, dwelling at some length upon the many virtues of the deceased and pointing out to the bereaved husband the hope of a happy reunion and a blessed immortality beyond the grave. ⧉
