1905-11-23 – Greeley Tribune – Emily Albee Cattle Painting in George Dauth Grocery ⧉

George Dauth's mother in law, Emily Yeaton, was a professional painter. As a gift to George she gave him a painting titled "The Cattle" which would many decades later become a part of UNC's art collection. ⧉

A large painting of a group of cattle resting has been displayed in the window of the star grocery for a couple of days. The painting belong to George Dauth and was done by his wife's mother, Mrs. Z. D. Yeaton, of Chicaksha, I. T. The canvass without the frame was five by seven feet, and with the frame a little over six by eight. This is the largest painting in the city, so far as known, and also one of the best. Mr. Dauth refused $500 for the painting before it was shipped from Chickasha. The picture will be on exhibition in the window of the Star Grocery for a short time and will be hung in Mr. Dauth's place of business. It was been framed by Gorge D. Horne. ⧉
