1932-02-25 – Greeley Daily Tribune – June Dauth Captures Robber ⧉

Enough excitement to furnish the steam for a good sized rodeo occurred in the vicinity of 922 Twelfth street shortly before 7 a.m. Thursday when two rooms were robbed and an alleged thief was run down. Lloyd Kensinger, roomer in the home of Mrs. Leslie Ish, 922 Twelfth street, awoke to find a Mexican going through his pockets. Kensinger arose with a about and pursed the thief downstairs. The man took the stairs in three jumps and was out in the alley. Kensinger’s shouts aroused the neighborhood and half a dozen men were soon after him. After doubling bakck thru the alleys for some time, a man who later gave his name as J. Delegado, 29, was captured by George “June” Dauth and C. H Stromsoe. Stromsoe was close on the heels of the alleged thief when Dauth drove by. Dauth asked if the man ahead was wanted and after finding that he was drove on an after considerable maneuvering headed off Delegado near eleventh street and Eight avenue. Dauth first asked the man if he wanted a ride. The reply was in the affirmative and Delegado started to get into the Dauth car, when he saw Stromsoe approaching. Delegado then attempted to escape by was held until a police officer arrived. Delgado at first denied being at the Ish house, but later admitted it. He still denied in early afternoon taking the $70 watch which was missing from Kensinger’s room and the $2 stolen from the room of Miss Arnold in the same house. Only $1 was found on him when the capture took place. ⧉
