Harrowing race with death told after party arrives with sick woman.; The story of a hazardous, man killing race with death in a raging blizzard, to save the life of a young bride came out of the Meeker district this afternoon.; As a result of a 20-mile trek over six-foot snow and another long and cold journey in an improvised buckboard, Mrs. John Harrington, bride of three months, is lying in a hospital at Buford, Colo., near Meeker, and her fate is still in doubt.; According to the story, phoned to the Daily Sentinel, John Harrington, 25, and Fred Dauth, yesterday rigged up a toboggan at the 101 ranch at Trappers Lake, loaded the young bride on the improvised sled with snowshoes started the perilous journey to Twin Springs, 31 miles from Meeker.; After hours of pulling and smashing their way thru snow drifts, hampered by the blizzard which swept all of Colorado, they arrived at Twin Springs. There a buckboard was found and a team of horses pulled the frail wagon with its precious load thru more snow and towards medical assistance. ; The Daily Sentinel learned this afternoon that Mr. and Mrs. Harrington went to Trappers Lake some three months ago, coming from Illinois. ; The young bride has been ill for some time, but her condition did not become critical until recently. ; Few details were available today due to the fact that yesterday's storm wiped out many of the telephone lines and communication was not restored until late this afternoon. ⧉
