When the morning sun came forth in the early hours of May 18th, and man was awakened into the activities of the day, the news spread with gloom, as well as rapidity that during the night the nessenger had called from this field of activity, one who was considered nearly restored to health after a sickness of a few weeks, and we were all shocked to learn that George Dauth, Jr., one of our own and respected members was gone, and to learn a sudden and unexpected crisis arose, which prevented his recovery, and in turn he was called to embark on the encharted sea with the master pilot as his guide and mariner. A native son of Greeley, born in this city September 14th, 1904, thus being eight months past twenty seven years of age, and passed to larger life on May 18th, 1932. His entire life has been spent in this community, where his education was obtained, first in the public schools of the city, in 1924 after his graduation therefrom, he entered for advanced work in the Colorado State Teachers College for two years.
