Mrs. Lina fitting, 89, a sister of the late Louis and George Dauth, pioneer Fort Collins residents, died at her home in Denver this morning after a short illness. Born in Germany, Mrs. Fitting came to Denver with her brothers in 1880. The same year she married Jacob Fitting and the two, following a disastrous flood of the Platte river which swept away the Denver city hall, homesteaded property at 1429 Market street in order to gain title to their land again. Elected to Council; Louis and George Dauth settled in Fort Collins and played prominent parts in the activities of this pioneer community. In a city election April 3, 1883, Louis Dauth was elected councilman for fourth ward. He later moved to Denver and his brother to Greeley, both dying within the last two years. ; In Denver Mr. Fitting organized the Pioneer Iron and Wire Works company and, at 91, continues active in the company. Mrs. Fitting and he celebrated their sixty-seventh wedding anniversary May 19. ; Surviving Mrs. Fitting, in addition to her husband, are three daughters, including Mrs. Frank R. Fraser of Denver, formerly of Fort Collins, and two sons. Burial will be in Denver. ⧉
