Opened up a Millinery Store at 24th – 25th Larimer. Had a show case on the fence. Displayed your Hats. 6am Mamma Took meat saw for sharpening had Willie on one arm. Papa had $15. Mamma bought Millinery. Rented a store and living quarters in back. Dance Hall upstairs and church across the street. 3 years in that store. Winter sold papa ½ business for $750. Mamma borrowed $500 from Mrs. Godda and $250 from brother. No security and no interest to buy ½ business in 1889. Then Winter and Fitting until 1889. Winter died. Papa sold to [?]Biument[?] Drug Store union. There built a house in Swansea lived there 5 years. Willie born 22nd and Welton. Louis in Millinery store. Had Millinery Store at 14th and 15th Laurence or Larimer. Jake was born in Hat Shop. Lena and Lizzie born in Swansea. Annie was born in Rosdorfer Strausse 3T Darmstadt, Dr. [?]Guestsch[?]. Eva born at 1433 or 39 Market. Quit Millinery business. Went to Germany in 1889 sold out for $10,000. Stayed in Germany until 1893. Came back to Denver. Had a shop at 14th and Market stayed there until shop was built 1435 Market. Worked at C & S shop $9 a week, 2820 Milwaukee. Has [?] out of town. Moved to 624 Penn in 1900 stayed there 32 years. Bought frame house and 4 lots $2000. Second set of paper next page.

Pages 8-9 is a family history of the Caroline (Lena) Dauth (Fitting) family written by Isabella Fraser. Pages 9-12 are selections about the Fittings from the book "German Pioneers in Colorado 1850-1900’s" by Jacob V Schaetzel. Pages 12-13 are selections about structures built by the Fittings from the book "Mile High Trolleys" by William C Jones. Page 14 are notes from Caroline (Lena) Dauth (Fitting) found in her bible. Page 15 are selections from "Denver In Slices" by Louisa Ward Arps. Pages 15-17 are a transcription of a conversation between Anna Fitting, Eva Fitting, Elizabeth Fitting, and Isabella Fraser. Pages 18-21 is a family history of the Caroline (Lena) Dauth (Fitting) family written by Eva Fitting. These notes were sent to Leslie Dauth by Isabella Fraser in the 1980s. A more refined draft of these notes with slightly different information can be found in the Fort Collins Archive (Fort Collins History Connection).
